Molly did a fantastic job defending her thesis, entitled: "The effects of familism and sibling relationship on Mexican-origin youths’ intentions for substance use." She will be working to move her thesis towards publication, including the potential to add a longitudinal component before submitting the manuscript. She defended slightly more than one year after starting the PhD program, which is incredibly efficient! Congrats Molly on this great accomplishment!
Thanks to Dr. Melanie Domenech-Rodriguez and Dr. Ginger Lockhart for serving as thesis committee members. We also extend our thanks to Dr. Rick Robins and the California Families Project (CFP) team for permission to use CFP data, NIDA for funding the CFP study, and importantly, to those families that participated in the study. --RC
